TWO road projects in Engkilili have been approved under the Sri Aman Development Agency (SADA) for this year.
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Aidel Lariwoo said the first project involved the proposed construction of Jalan Sebeliau Ng Entalau, Sri Aman Division.
“And the second project involves the proposed Bukong Bypass-Engkilili/Kpg Bulu-Lubok Antu Road, Sri Aman Division,” he said.
Aidel said this in reply to Johnical Rayong Ngipa (GPS-Engkilili) during the question-and-answer session today.
Johnical wanted to know the planned projects approved for Engkilili constituency under SADA.
To a supplementary question on the scope and cost of the construction of the two road projects, Aidel said for the Jalan Sebeliau Ng Entalau project, it is to build a new 8-km long Public Works Department (PWD) R3 standard road from Ng Entalau Health Clinic.
“The other scope of the project includes soil treatment, drainage system, and road furniture with the expected cost of the project being RM68 million,” he said.
He added that the design and tender documentation have been completed and ready to be tendered out with the proposed project expected to be tendered by second quarter of this year.
“For the second proposed project — Bukong Bypass-Engkilili/Kpg Bulu-Lubok Antu Road — the project scope is to build a new 3-km and PWD R3 standard long road.
“In addition, the scope covers construction of drainage systems and installation of street lights,” he said.
He said the cost of the project would be RM39.5 million the cost of which includes land acquisition and relocation of the utility.
“This project will be tendered after Gawai in the second quarter of this year,” he said.
