MIRI: Two robbery suspects were arrested early Tuesday morning less than two hours after they robbed a 24-hour convenience shop in Pelita Commercial Centre here. The suspects aged 25 and 26 were picked up from a room of a budget hotel here at 5am following a public tip-off.
Police also recovered valuables from the suspects which are believed to be from the 24-hour convenience store. The two suspects clad in black outfits used clothes to cover their faces before robbing the 24-hour convenience store in Pelita Commercial Centre.
The incident was reported to have occurred around 3.09am. It was reported that one of the suspects had pointed a knife at a 28-year-old male cashier before ordering him to surrender all the money inside the till. The suspects then fled with the money and valuables belonging to the cashier totalling RM1,800.
Fortunately the cashier was unhurt. Miri police chief, ACP Lim Meng Seah confirmed the arrest. He said, the duo, have been remanded for four days to facilitate police investigation on the case.
