LUNDU: Two projects under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) in Opar constituency have been handed over to the respective contractors for immediate implementation.

According to Opar assemblyman, Billy Sujang with the projects, communities in the constituency continue to receive development brought about by the Sarawak government.

“The two RTP projects are the construction of the new Kampung Sebako 1 community hall and the construction of the new Kampung Sebiris community hall.

“The two RTP projects involved a cost of RM500,000,” he added.

He said this while witnessing the handing over of the RTP project sites in Kampung Sebako 1 and Kampung Sebiris recently.

He also said that the construction of the projects would be under the supervision of the Lundu District Public Works Department (PWD).

“I hope these projects can benefit the villagers, especially in carrying out community activities,” he said.

Billy added that currently, Kampung Sebako 1 did not have any hall or public hall for the use of the villagers; instead they often used the hall in Kampung Sebako 2.

“The same goes for Kampung Sebiris where the existing hall is in a dilapidated condition and not safe to use anymore,” he said.
