SARIKEI: A two-storey farmhouse at Jalan Meruton – Jalan Hong Ming was completely destroyed by fire today (Jul 7).
The State Fire and Rescue Operations Centre (Bomba) said it received an emergency call pertaining to the incident at 12.41pm.
The Sarikei fire station was dispatched to the scene, where they found the farmhouse completely engulfed in flames.
Meanwhile, Bomba reported that a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle and two motorcycles were also destroyed by the fire.
The farmhouse had no residents and was only meant as a temporary stay-house.
After ensuring the area was deemed safe and at no risk of reignition, the firefighters returned back to the fire station.
The operation ended at 1.48pm.
