Two suspects held over house break-in, bike theft

KAPIT:The police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) here recently managed to arrest several suspects and confiscated stolen items following several house break-in and motorcycle theft reports.

On 15 February the police here received a report of a house break-in happening behind the ‘Jelatong Kitai’ in the town where the house owner claimed losing valuables worth about RM3,500. The stolen items included a hand phone, two gold rings, two silver necklaces and packets of cigarettes.

Following a report lodged, at around 11pm that same day, a CID team picked up a suspect aged 26 at Bletih Wharf.

During a body search on the suspect police recovered items which were reported stolen in a house break-in case reported earlier.

On 18 February, the CID team arrested a 27-year-old man and recovered a motorcycle which was reported missing at Kpg Sawang, Jalan Melekun in April, 2015.

Urine tests conducted on the two suspects revealed that they were positive for drugs (Meth).

The two suspects are being detained until 23 February to facilitate police investigations into the two cases.

They will be charged under Section 379 A and Section 457 of the Penal Code and Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, 1952.
