MIRI: An accident involving a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle and a Perodua Viva occurred near Taman Awam Miri today.
The incident which reportedly happened at around 3.45 pm, took place under slippery road conditions following a bout of rain.
Based on footage captured by a dash camera from another vehicle, the 4WD vehicle was travelling from the city centre towards Telang Usan Roundabout.
The video shows the vehicle suddenly skidding and veering off its lane, crossing into the opposite lane where it collided head-on with an oncoming Perodua Viva.
The crash caused significant damage to both vehicles, and emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene.
The extent of the injuries to the occupants of both vehicles is currently unknown, but authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution, especially in adverse weather conditions.
The authorities are also reviewing the dash cam footage to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the collision.
