MIRI: Two women suspected of selling illegal lottery tickets were arrested by police during a raid on a premises in Lutong here last Saturday. Miri Deputy Police chief, Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the 4.00pm operation, codenamed ‘Ops Dadu’, was carried out by a police team from Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) following information received and public complaints.

He said the suspects, aged 27 and 30 years old, were taken to Miri Central Police Station to facilitate investigation.

“We (police) also seized two portable printers, two mobile phones, two calculators, four pieces of paper, believed to be betting slips and RM339,” he said here. Stanley said the case was being investigated under Section 4A(a) of the Open Gaming House Act, 1953.
