KOTA SAMARAHAN: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi attended the 2024 state-level thanksgiving prayers in conjunction with the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s official birthday at Al-Muttaqin Mosque, Kota Samarahan, on Friday, (Sept 6)

Wan Junaidi and Fauziah arrived around 6.30 pm and were welcomed by Utility and Telecommunications Minister Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi.

The event, attended by 1,000 people, began with Maghrib prayers, followed by the recitation of Yaasin and a thanksgiving prayer led by Sarawak’s head imam Datuk Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi.

During the ceremony, a special lecture was featured by the Sarawak Mufti Datuk Kipli Yassin, titled ‘Loyalty in Leadership’.

After performing the Isyak congregational prayers, the event was enlivened by the recitation of Zikir Marhaban, led by Samarahan Division Zikir Group Association before the commencement of the dinner banquet.

The banquet was also attended by ministers and dignitaries, including non-Muslim officials and their spouses.

Among those present were Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Women, Early Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, Deputy Utilities and Telecommunications Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi and Deputy Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Datuk Idris Buang.
