BINTULU: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi attended a thanksgiving ceremony in conjunction with the Sarawak Day 2024 celebration at the Assyakirin Mosque here last night (July 21).
He arrived around 6.40pm and was welcomed by the Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, representing Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Upon arrival, Wan Junaidi joined the Maghrib prayer with other dignitaries and mosque congregants.
The thanksgiving ceremony continued with the recitation of Surah Yasin and a thanksgiving prayer led by the Chief Imam of Sarawak, Sahibul Fadillah Datu Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi, as a sign of gratitude for the Sarawak Day 2024 celebration.
This was followed by a special lecture titled “Synergy Between Leaders and the People Towards a Prosperous Sarawak” delivered by the Sarawak Mufti, Sahibus Samahah Datuk Kipli Yassin.
After the thanksgiving ceremony Wan Junaidi joined other dignitaries and attendees for a dinner banquet.
Also present were the Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas; State Legislative Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar; and State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
