KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi attended the ‘Sungkei Perdana’ ceremony at Astana Negeri last night.
The event also attended by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Open and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.
Also present were assemblymen, community leaders and village chiefs, and heads of departments.
The fast breaking began with a light meal followed by the Maghrib prayer at the Astana Negeri surau.
After the prayer, guests were treated to a feast before performing the Isyak and Taraweeh prayers.
Also in attendance were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asia Awang Nassar,
Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk Seri John Sikie Tayai, Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, and State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
