KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohamad Sanusi, paid last respects to Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi’s mother-in-law Puan Sri Datin Sri Elizabeth Pawa, who passed away on Sunday.

Wan Junaidi and his wife arrived at the residence of the late Elizabeth in Tabuan Jaya Tengah here, at around 11.30am today (Oct 7).

Nanta in a Facebook post said the couple spent approximately 30 minutes offering condolences and support to the grieving family.

“Many stories and memories were shared by Tun Pehin Sri throughout his time knowing my late mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tan Sri Celestine Ujang, who was a former Sarawak state minister and Speaker of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly.

“Tun Pehin Sri and his wife also visited the mother of my late mother-in-law, Piah Kalok, 97, who is also at the same residence and is ailing due to old age,” he said.

Also present at the residence were Layar assemblyman and Deputy Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development Minister Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, and Pelagus assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang.

Nanta along with his wife Datin Sri Angelina Ujang and their entire family, expressed their deep gratitude for the visit and the words of encouragement offered by Wan Junaidi and his wife during this time of loss.
