KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib went to Negara Brunei Darussalam to attend Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah’s 71st Birthday celebration.
Their Excellencies were welcomed upon arrival at Brunei International Airport last Friday by Brunei Second Minister of Finance, Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Setia Dato Sri Abdul Rahman and wife, and senior government officers.
During the visit Their Excellencies also attended an investiture ceremony and thereafter have an audience with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah at Istana Nurul Iman, Brunei Darussalam.
In the evening, Their Excellencies attended a Royal Banquet at Istana Nurul Iman.
The entourage of Their Excellencies comprised Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Haji Johari Tun Abang Openg and wife Datin Amar Dato Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and wife Datuk Dayang Morliah Datuk Awang Daud.
