MIRI: Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib, the wife of the Head of State, provided generous contributions to 60 individuals in need here.
The recipients included individuals from the asnaf (needy) group, the disabled community, and single mothers.
The ceremony took place during the Majlis Jalinan Kasih 2023 event organised by Astana Negeri Sarawak on Monday (June 5).
Out of the beneficiaries, 30 individuals were from the Bekenu constituency while the remaining recipients were from the Lambir constituency.
Attendees of the event included Sarawak Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Rosey Yunus; and Deputy Minister for Youth, Sport and Entrepreneur Development, Dr Ripin Lamat, who also serves as the Lambir assemblyman.
The presence of Datin Ester Balan, the wife of Deputy Minister in Sarawak Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring), Datuk Gerawat Gala; and Miri District Office’s Siti Rohanie Yusof added to the significance of the occasion.
