KUCHING: UAZ NextGeneration has won the PUBG Mobile tournament held as a side event of the TYT Cup Muay Thai Championship.
The favourite of the competition put on a dominant display, especially in the final two maps by claiming back-to-back Winner Winner Chicken Dinner (WWCD) to win the title.
The runner-up was GE06 Enforce Royale, who consistently finished near the top of the table every round despite the fact that they were unable to claim any WWCD.
Meanwhile, third place went to SM New Era, who finished just ahead of DBD Terminator, who trailed by only two points.
Prizes for the top three were presented by Sarawak Muay Thai Association (PMNS) president Jumaat Ibrahim.
According to Jumaat, the competition was held to give local esports enthusiasts a chance to test their skills.
“Response was very encouraging, proving that esports is becoming more and more popular among the youths of today.
“We will try to include esports competitions such as this as a side activity of other upcoming Muay Thai tournaments,” he added.
Among those in attendance were Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts principal assistant secretary Nasir Lariwoo and Kuching North City Hall deputy director Faisal Adenan.
