KUCHING: UCSI University continues to solidify its standing among the world’s top universities by advancing higher education and offering employment opportunities to its students.
Group CEO Datuk Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir said the university’s distinctive approach, which combines industry-based learning and innovation, is key in preparing graduates to meet the challenges of the global workforce.
“This has significantly enhanced the university’s international reputation.
“Our Kuching campus requires students to spend at least two months on-site each year to ensure active engagement with both academic and industrial environments.
“Interestingly, the number of industries we collaborate with now exceeds the size of UCSI itself, reflecting the strong ties between the university and the job market.
“This partnership greatly eases the job search process for our students, providing them not only with a quality education but also with direct access to career opportunities upon graduation,” she said.
She said this when met by media following a courtesy visit to Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, at the Astana Negeri here on Thursday (Sept 5).
She added that the visit aimed to introduce and discuss UCSI University’s initiatives and potential collaborations with the Sarawak government.
It also sought guidance from Wan Junaidi on ways to maximise the impact and effectiveness of these initiatives.
“His input is vital to ensuring our programmes align with Sarawak’s development goals,” Siti Hamisah added.
Meanwhile, Wan Junaidi stressed the importance of talent development, particularly in navigating the evolving job market shaped by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and other emerging technologies.
