SIBU: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Deputy President Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas commended the youth for their decision to join PBB, describing it as a wise choice.

He stressed that the party is led by a visionary leader, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, under whose leadership Sarawak has made significant progress through Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

“Our leader, Abang Johari, works tirelessly. I once asked him where he gets his energy from, and he told me it comes from his desire to develop Sarawak.

“You are now part of a strong party, and I congratulate you on making this decision,” Uggah said at a welcoming dinner for the PBB Youth Wing, held at a prominent hotel today (Oct 5).

Reflecting on his own experience, Uggah noted how PBB has evolved over the years but expressed pride in his long-standing association with the party.

“There were many political parties in Sarawak 43 years ago when I first joined PBB, but I was convinced that PBB was the right choice because of its commitment to uniting the bumiputera community in Sarawak. I will remain with PBB for life,” he added.

He encouraged the youth to take pride in joining one of the strongest components of GPS, which has been instrumental in Sarawak’s development.

Uggah pointed to the state’s achievements in revenue growth, infrastructure development, and its leadership in green energy as examples of this progress.

“You are boarding a strong vessel, led by a highly capable captain. You’ve made the right choice, and I hope you will stand by it.

“One of our key tasks, especially for the youth, is to ensure that we continue to unite and support the leadership of the Premier of Sarawak, so that PBB remains strong and Sarawak continues to advance,” he said.

Also present were PBB Vice-President Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, PBB Deputy Secretary-General Datuk Ibrahim Baki, PBB Elected EXCO Member Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, Assistant Secretary-General Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, PBB Assistant treasurer Dr Ripin Lamat, PBB Youth chief Miro Simuh and Organising Chairman Reily Repai Maringai.
