KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas expressed his satisfaction with the high level of compliance to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) at Bandar Riyal Market in Kota Samarahan.
“We are seeing compliance level at almost 99 percent on adherence to the SOPs such as wearing face masks, social distancing, and entry registration using MySejahtera,” he said when he visited the market today.
Uggah, who is also Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman, said this showed that Sarawakians are aware of the SOPs and their role in the fight against Covid-19.
“However there were one or two vendors who might have forgotten to follow the SOPs,” he said.
He added that Sarawak was able to overcome and flatten the curve during the previous waves of the pandemic due to the diligence of the people in complying with the SOPs.
“I hope everyone will cooperate so that we can continue to lower the number of positive cases,” he said. Stressing on the importance of complying with the SOPs to curb the spread of the virus, Uggah said it was for everyone’s health and safety.
