KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has been warded at a hospital here after undergoing a stent procedure on Tuesday.
A Facebook post by Sarawak Disaster Information stated that Uggah’s condition was stable and recuperating.
“He (Uggah) sends his appreciation to anyone concerned and assures them that the task entrusted to him will be delegated accordingly during his absence,” stated the post.
Uggah, who is also Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman, advised everyone to continue to stay vigilant and adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued.
He will be taking a leave from work in the meantime to rest and recover from the medical procedure.
Meanwhile, Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian wishes a speedy recovery for Uggah.
“I am confident that he will recover very soon,” Dr Sim said.
