KOTA SAMARAHAN: Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Universitas Islam Negeri Syariff Hidayatullah Jakarta, Indonesia to increase international collaborations in various academic fields.
In the MoU, the universities agreed to, among other things, increase international mobility of their staff and students, increase student exchange programmes and jointly organise international conferences, short-term courses, international symposium and academic researches on relevant fields.
They also agreed to exchange information related to the development of learning and teaching including those pertaining to research.
These were disclosed by UiTM Sarawak in a press statement after the signing ceremony in Jakarta yesterday.
UiTM Sarawak rector Prof Datuk Dr Jamil Hamali signed on behalf of UiTM while Universitas Islam Negeri Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Indonesia was represented by its rector Prof Dr Amany Lubis.
Present to witness the ceremony were UiTM International and Academic Affairs deputy rector Associate Professor Dr Firdaus Abdullah and UNI Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta deputy rector Prof Andi Faisal Bakti, Malaysia Ambassador to Indonesia Mubarak Samsudin, Education Attache at the Malaysian Embassy and several top management staff members of UiTM Sarawak.
