KUCHING: Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sarawak aims to make it into the Malaysia Books of Records through its Auto Rally Borneo on Sept 17-27.

The Auto Rally Borneo from Telok Melano to Tawau, Sabah is one of the four main activities planned by UiTM Sarawak as part of its 50th anniversary celebration.

Besides the Auto Rally Borneo, there will also be an Alumni Charity Golf (September 23), Homecoming Dinner UiTM Sarawak (October 15), and UiTM Alumni Fun Run Rindok Berekot (October 28).

Rector of UiTM Sarawak Prof.Datuk Dr Jamil Hamali said it aims to try and achieve the record as it would be one of the longest auto rallies participated by its alumni.

“We will be organising the auto rally from here to Tawau. We have a campus UiTM Tawau, we want to collaborate with UiTM Sabah.

“So, we will try to achieve that target of entering the Malaysia Books of Records,” he said during a press conference on UiTM Sarawak’s 50th anniversary celebration here on Sunday (August 13).
