KUCHING: Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) has more than 500 academic programmes and 35 campuses nationwide with over 18,000 academic and administrative staff.
UiTM Vice Chancellor Prof Datuk Ts Dr Roziah Mohd Janor disclosed this yesterday at the launching of Jom Masuk IPT Zone 3 Sarawak 2022 Carnival at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here.
She added that the university would continue to provide educational opportunities for youth in the country.
Like other institutions of higher learning, UiTM, she added, was intensifying its efforts to produce high calibre graduates to meet the current market requirements and international standards.
On the two-day IPT intake programme, Roziah urged members of the public to take the opportunity to get information from various IPT, polytechnics, community colleges and public skills training institutions (ILKA).
She advised school leavers to utilise the platform provided to get advice and guidance for a clearer picture on their choices of studies and career opportunities.
“I was also informed that Bahagian Kemasukan Pelajar IPTA (BKPA) and UiTM Sarawak branch have worked together to organise outreach programmes in several locations such as Samarahan, Kapit, Mukah, Bintulu and Marudi were well welcomed,” she said.
Roziah also commented on the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UiTM and Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN).
“This MoU is one of the initiatives to illustrate UiTM’s efforts and commitment together with PTPTN to boost collaboration opportunities that will bring benefit to both parties and the community,” she added.
