MIRI: Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) Miri, distributed 51 food baskets and cash aid to underprivileged individuals during its ‘Ziarah UKAS Semarak Ramadan” programme held today in Keluru Jaya.
The food baskets consisting of essential household items and cash were presented by Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (Entrepreneur Development) Deputy Minister Dr Ripin Lamat.
It was held at Masjid Hamidiah Kampung Keluru Jaya.
Also present was political secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, Sarkawi Suhaili.
During the programme, a talk on 60 years of Sarawak independence was also held.
Ripin when met after presenting the food baskets, applauded UKAS for organising the programme.
“The food baskets and cash presented through this programme are meant to help ease recipients’ burden,” he pointed out.
