KUCHING: A man was fined RM1,000 or one month in prison for damaging his niece’s windows after she refused to lend him a motorcycle.
Roshan, 55, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Ling Phui Chuan to the charge under Section 427 of the Penal Code.
He was accused of committing mischief by damaging property when he shattered the glass window of the 26-year-old complainant’s house, causing RM150 in damages.
The offense occurred in Kampung Panglima Seman on Oct 1.
According to the facts of the case, Roshan became enraged after the complainant declined to lend him her motorcycle.
In a fit of anger, he vandalised the windows of her home.
Following the incident, the complainant lodged a police report, leading to Roshan’s arrest on Oct 18.
Investigations revealed that Roshan had damaged the glass windows of the complainant’s house due to the motorcycle request.
ASP Arman Ibrahim prosecuted the case, while the man was unrepresented by counsel.
