BINTULU: A solid support towards the implementation of the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 is important to enable Sarawak to achieve its vision of becoming a developed and high income state.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, therefore, said the PCDS 2030 would be among the focuses to be discussed at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) 2023 Northern Zone Special Convention here on tomorrow (Oct 15).
Awang Tengah, who is also PBB deputy president, said that it was very important to share with the party’s delegates attending the convention on the state government’s policy which propelled Sarawak’s progress.
“We want the delegates present to understand PBB’s vision, our struggle for the future of Sarawak to be more advanced and prosper,” he said.
He said this when met by reporters after inspecting the venue for the convention at the Bintulu Civic Centre here on Saturday (Oct 14).
Awang Tengah, who is also the organising chairman of the convention, further said it was also important to understand how PBB president and Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg could bring Sarawak forward.
“Our hope for this conference is that it will also strengthen the spirit of unity, consensus, and cooperation among the PBB members.
“At the same time, these members will play a pivotal role in supporting all initiatives and also come forward to introduce new policies for the betterment of the state.
“After all, Sarawak is now embarking on a new economy, among others, the digital economy, green energy, circular economy, all of which is initiated by our Premier,” he said.
He said thus the PCDS 2030 and state’s policy on the new economy requires the understanding of the people to ensure the successful implementation of the state’s programmes and initiatives.
“We want the people to support the good policies of the Sarawak government. God willing, if we work together, Sarawak will progress successfully,” said Awang Tengah.
