MUKAH: Narcotic police here arrested a jobless woman on suspicion of possessing drugs believed to be syabu yesterday.

Mukah district police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias in a statement, said the arrest was made around 11.50am at the Pasar Medan Setiaraja parking lot in an operation codenamed ‘Ops Tapis’.

During inspections, the 33-year-old suspect surrendered a small bottle containing crystalline substance believed to be syabu, to the police team.

He stated that the suspect and drugs weighing 1.50g, were taken to the police station for further actions.

Investigations found that the suspect had been involved in substance abuse activities since February this year.

Rizal pointed out that the woman was also tested positive for amphetamine.

The case is being investigated under Section 12 (2) and Section 15 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
