LIMBANG: A jobless local was arrested for allegedly possessing RM3,400 worth of suspected syabu drugs at Taman Pertama last Wednesday (July 26).
The Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (NCID), acting on intelligence, carried out a raid on a house around 11pm which resulted in the arrest of the 44-year-old suspect.
Limbang police chief Supt Parum Niot in a statement, said the team found a set of car keys in the suspect’s room and proceeded to inspect his car.
“Further inspections led to the finding and seizure of 11 plastic packets containing suspected syabu drugs.
“The drugs weighing 17g and valued around RM3,400, were found on the dashboard of the car,” he said, adding that the drugs can be used up to 85 times.
Background checks found that the suspect, who was tested positive for drugs, had two prior records related to drugs.
Parum pointed out that the suspect is believed to be involved in selling drugs around Limbang and is currently remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
