Unifor allocates over RM20mil for 86 projects

KUCHING: The Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) has allocated a sum of RM24.643mil to finance 86 projects under its Phase 1 grant distribution this year.

Minister-in-charge Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said these projects included the construction, renovation, and upgrading of various houses of worship, multipurpose halls and other facilities.

He said this after presenting cheques for 76 such projects amounting to RM19mil on Today (Oct 13).

Uggah added that much like last year, the Sarawak government had again approved a budget of RM50mil to allow Unifor to carry out its objectives.

He disclosed that the next grant distribution would be later this year. Among those receiving on behalf of the beneficiaries were Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian; Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn; and deputy ministers Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu and Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil.
