KUCHING: The Sarawak government through the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) has disbursed a total of RM1.35 million in funding to 13 beneficiaries for the construction of new places of worship in the Kedup constituency.
Kedup assemblyman Martin Ben was present to hand over the cheque to respective recipients during a simple handing over ceremony recently.
“Although the amount received was less than the requested funds, it would still contribute significantly to the successful execution of the upcoming projects.
“It is also hoped that the progress of the houses of worship will be completed according to the schedule,” he said.
He added every expenditure must also be recorded so that the projects can be monitored and ensure smooth progress of the projects.
“Additionally, this is the commitment of the Sarawak government in helping with the construction of new houses of worship,” he said.
