KUCHING: Two students from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) have already figured it all out once they have graduated with their Bachelor’s Degrees in Counselling when it comes to pursuing their respective ambitions.
Student Emir Fathullah, 23, and Patricia Anna, also 23, who are both currently in their final fourth year at UNIMAS were met at the university’s Chancellory Square Naming and Bucida Trees Planting event here yesterday selling watches at one of the stalls put up for the occasion.
“It’s my side business. It is my father’s business and we started doing our family business in 2020 starting with selling mobile phones’ power banks.
“After that, we moved to Uptown Civic Centre selling mobile gadgets and accessories,” said Emir proudly.
He added that the family’s business transitioned into selling bundle items and shoes in 2020-2021 during the pandemic.
“We started selling watches in 2022 and I’m not so actively involved as I am studying.
“But, since 2020, our family has bought two new cars, and I bought a laptop for myself and also made RM10,000 for myself,” he said, adding that he had spent RM6,000 into buying more products and RM4,000 for a laptop.
Emir said after graduation, he would pursue to look for work and going to private companies as a counsellor besides setting his aim at a few companies including Sarawak Synergy and Petros.
As for Patricia, she humbly said promptly that she would just go to work and planned to go back to Sibu to her family after her graduation.
