KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) is expanding its wings with the opening of a learning centre in Subang Jaya.

According to its Business School Chief Executive Officer, Professor Dr Puah Chin Hong, the university now has four learning centres namely in Sibu, Miri, Kota Kinabalu and the latest being in Subang Jaya which became fully operational on Aug 2 this year.

Unimas’ strategic partner, Grand International Academy is responsible for operating the learning centre in Subang Jaya in programme management, marketing and providing facilities and infrastructure for teaching and learning sessions.

The courses offered are Master in Information Technology Management; Corporate Master in Business Administration; Master of Science in Human Resource Development; Master of Science in Learning Science and Doctor in Business Administration.

The centre has five classrooms that can accommodate up to 50 students, a rest room, a mini library, a discussion corner, free high-speed Wi-Fi access facilities and a spacious pantry.

Teaching for these postgraduate courses is entirely handled by lecturers from Unimas and classes are only held on weekends .

The opening of the Unimas Kuala Lumpur Learning Centre provides an opportunity for students in Peninsular Malaysia to continue their studies at Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) levels through strategic courses provided by the university without having to come to the main campus in Sarawak.
