KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Student Development Centre will host the largest career and industrial training exhibition in Borneo, the Talent Recruitment and Career Exhibition (TRACE) 2021 online for five days, from Oct 25 to Oct 29.

Student Development Center director Associate Professor Dr Faisal Ali Anwarali Khan said TRACE was last held in 2019, and over 15,000 people attended the career fair, which featured over 1000 job openings and industrial training opportunities.

“We had planned to hold this event in April of last year, but it had to be postponed owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. TRACE 2021, on the other hand, would be held entirely online, with registration open to all communities in Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia via the website unimastrace.com,” he said on Thursday (Oct 21).

At the same time, Faisal disclosed that TRACE also intended to highlight the talents of prospective graduates in Sarawak and across the country to the industry, with the goal of increasing graduates’ marketability by networking with industry and universities.

Meanwhile, TRACE 2021 director Shane Lintang noted that roughly forty parties from various employment sectors had consented to participating in the exhibition, thus, individuals looking for job opportunities should standby copies of necessary documents as well as dress appropriately to entice potential employers despite the fact that the programme would only be held online.

“Generally, this programme is a career fair whereby Unimas encourages companies who offer job opportunities to attend the exhibition counter and provide information to the public about the positions available in terms of qualifications and skills required.

“Therefore, a student of higher education institutions, prospective graduates, graduates from polytechnics and community colleges as well as the public who are looking for job opportunities are invited to attend and join TRACE 2021 which will be held soon.”
