DARO: Unity among political party members is important to ensure that there is no division in the party.
Premier and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said in Peninsular Malaysia, for instance, there are strong parties but they are not stable due to division.
“So much so that our country had three prime ministers in a short period of time, and the effect is that it has caused projects to be put on hold and a drop in investor’s confidence,” he said.
He was speaking during the leaders meet the people programme at the Daro New Township Hall today.
“Political parties in the peninsula are divided into five. But thank God, our party is not split and we focus on the people,” he said.
Abang Johari also said that he would defend the rights of Sarawak in Malaysia and continue to develop the state, especially in rural areas.
