SERIAN: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah has emphasised that unity was the key to the state’s success, stability and strength.

He stressed that unity would also determine the state’s capability in facing challenges in the future.

“Therefore, to ensure that we, in Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) continue to excel, remain strong and lead the state government, we must have unity among ourselves.

“We have, of course, done very well, our party is very strong, we are the backbone of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government and we attribute this to our strong and visionary leaders,” he said when officiating at the Balai Ringin PBB branch triennial delegates meeting (TDM) in Serian on Saturday.

Uggah called on party members to prepare themselves to face the challenges of the future.

“And one of the most important aspects is that, first they must understand the current government policies such as the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 to bring Sarawak to a new dimension.

“And I want everyone to fully participate in the programme, to benefit from the programme.

“So, I am appealing to the party branch to organise some briefing for the members on what to do and also to prepare themselves because the future can be very challenging,” he said.
