SIBU: The University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) was awarded the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems (QMS) certification recently.
According to a Facebook post by the Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) Sarawak, the certification was presented by SIRIM state director Shahrizan Mohd Sahmoni to UTS vice chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Khairuddin Abdul Hamid.
The simple ceremony was held during the lunch break on the second day of the convocation ceremony on December 15, witnessed by Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, who is also the UTS Board of Directors chairman.
“Congratulations to UTS for receiving the certification from SIRIM QAS International,” said SIRIM Sarawak in their Facebook post.
SIRIM Sarawak emphasised that it was proud to support UTS in its commitment to excellence through the adoption of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, paving the way for a future defined by sustainability, accountability, and leadership.
