KUCHING: Unixx HC emerged as champion after beating Belia Git in the final match of the Mens’ Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Hockey League 2017 while HaziCCON ALL DIW took the womens’ title after beating Lucion Mix.
A total of 20 teams took part in the league matches held at State Hockey Stadium at Jalan Padungan here, from July 8 until August 12.
Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah who officiated at the closing ceremony said his ministry would be looking into SMK Dalat’s request for a hockey pitch to be built in Mukah.
“I have promised Dalat assemblywoman, Datuk Fatimah Abdullah that I would look into the school’s request,” he said.
He noted that proper facilities should be made available for hockey enthusiasts in the State as well as holding tournaments or leagues to polish their talents.
Also present was Sarawak Hockey Association Vice-President, Claudia Regina Janting.
