BINTULU: An unusual cloud formation was seen in Bintulu early today (April 6), causing excitement among residents.
Pictures and videos of the strange cloud formation that lasted for several hours until about 9am were shared on Facebook, taken from various locations here.
There were a few locals who did not miss the opportunity to take pictures with the beautiful natural phenomenon.
While some marvelled at the rare and spectacular cloud formation, there were also some residents who were worried about the possibility of thunderstorms.
It was understood that the rare cloud formation was also detected in Miri.
In the meantime, the Malaysian Meteorological Department issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds from 5.45am to 9am on Thursday involving the areas of Sarikei, Meradong, Sibu, Selangau, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu and Miri.
