KUCHING: The Sarawak State Library is set to host a Sarawakiana Lecture Series entitled “Critical History of the State of Santubong: Early History of Sarawak,” focusing on the evolution of historical documentation in Sarawak.
As per a press release from the Sarawak State Library, this lecture aims to highlight the latest research on historical documentation in Sarawak and delve into how English officials were primarily responsible for crafting early narratives of Sarawak’s history during the Brooke administration and the British colonial era.
The lecture will be held in the Seminar Room on Level 1 of the Sarawak State Library on September 30th at 9 a.m. Azuan Jemat, the Manager of the Islamic Affairs and Malay Customs Board at the Islamic Information Centre Sarawak, will be delivering the lecture.
Attendance is free and open to the public upon prior registration.
