PUSA: Saribas Malay Development Association (Perkemas) hopes the federal government could consider upgrading the Pusa Health clinic to hospital.
According to its president Abang Bolhassan Abang Abdul Latip, the idea of voicing the matter arose after seeing the difficulties of locals to get health services.
“Currently, Pusa has only one health clinic and to acquire more detailed medical services, residents have to go to Betong, Saratok or Sarikei where the nearest hospitals are.
“It is very difficult for the residents who are in an emergency situation, therefore, Perkemas appeals to Batang Lupar MP Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim to propose this matter to a higher level,” he said at the presentation of study incentives for outstanding students at Kampung Tambak here, recently.
At the event, 10 children of Perkemas members who obtained excellent results in the Form Three Assessment (PT3) and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) last year received cash incentives and certificates of appreciation.
Bolhassan also urged the children and parents to put more emphasis on education because without enough knowledge one will be left out of development.
At the same event, Rohani also contributed RM5,000 to Perkemas.
Also present were Perkemas Pusa zone chairman Abang Kiprawi Abang Abdul Latip, Penghulu Kampung Pusa Mahdi Kidi, SUPP Pusa chairman Datuk Lim Kian Choon, Kampung Tambak village chief Musa Gapor.
