BALAI RINGIN: A proposal to upgrade Balai Ringin township is in the planning stages, said its assemblyman Datuk Snowdan Lawan.
In a news report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), Snowdan said the estimated cost for the plan to upgrade the constituency to a full district is RM500 million.
“Maybe Balai Ringin will be upgraded to a full district since the population in the area is increasing.
“Currently, Balai Ringin has 96 longhouses,” he said when speaking at the Leader Meet People programme held at Kampung Tapang Lebat, recently.
He added that the construction of Kampung Tapang Lebat village hall has been completed with an allocation of RM370,000 through two phases.
Snowdan also said that the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) has been allocated a budget allocation of RM100 million for the first package for the project to connect clean water supply.
“Tenders will be opened in June 2023 to supply clean water from Balai Ringin to Kampung Telagus,” he explained.
In the same event, Snowdan also handed over a check amounting to RM5,000 to the chairman of the Balai Ringin Health Clinic Panel, Normala Sobeng.
