SARIKEI: Jalan Masjid Baru in Sarikei was upgraded which include drainage system, widened roads, and 300 metres of pedestrian walkway through Sarikei District Council.
Repok Assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said he has sought allocations to upgrade urban, rural areas, longhouses including roads, drainage and infrastructure to improve the living standards of the residents.
“It has been five years since I became the representative of the Repok constituency. I would like to provide services and take care of all the people in Sarikei regardless of their religion, race, or political party.
“After the completion of this project, it would benefit the road users, especially in reducing traffic congestion during school hours because there are two schools in Jalan Masjid Baru,” he added during his visit yesterday (March 22).
He also stated that Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has never neglected the people, especially in terms of improving their living standards and providing allocations for the development in Sarikei.
