Upgrading of Kota Sentosa residential parks set for April 2024 completion

KUCHING: The upgrading works for three residential parks within Kota Sentosa constituency is scheduled for completion by April 2024.

Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin said the three projects would be Borneo Garden Recreation Park, Green Heights Recreation Park and Lorong Stampin Tengah 12 Recreation Park, and will be supervised by Kuching South City Council (MBKS).

“I have reminded MBKS to closely monitor and supervise the upgrading works to ensure monitor and supervise the upgrading works to ensure that they are completed on schedule and with quality finishing to ensure the benefits from the upgrading works can be delivered on time for the benefit of the public.

“This is because recreation parks in residential areas provide a conducive venue for the public to congregate, exercise, organise social activities and events, provide active recreation opportunities for all ages and generally contribute towards improving the quality of life for the local communities as well as improving property values for the area,” he said this in a statement after handing over letter of award and site to the successful contractors for three of the projects.

He stated the three projects costed over RM140,000 under his Rural Transformation Project (RTP).

“I will continue to play my role as check and balance on government authorities tasked with public service delivery and remains committed to secure more state development funding for improving systematically and upgrading progressively all the neglected infrastructure to uplift the living standard and improving the quality of life of all the communities living in Kota Sentosa,” he added.
