SARIKEI: The state government has recently approved four Rural Transformation Projects (RTP) in the Meradong area.
Sarikei MP Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said the projects would be implemented soon in three longhouses and one village surau.
“Among the approved projects are the construction of a new parking area at Surau Kampung Selemas, upgrading the drainage system at Tury Rentap longhouse in Sungai Baron, upgrading the road at Ngipa Andieng longhouse in Sungai Buloh, and Bandar Wat longhouse in Sungai Tulai,” he said.
He hopes that the project upgrades would proceed smoothly and be carried out according to the specified standards.
Gung Chiu Kion, who represented Huang witnessed the RTP project site handover to the appointed contractor.
Also present were Churchill Barrak, assistant engineer of the Meradong and Julau District Council (MDMJ) and other officers.
