SARATOK: The Kalaka constituency will improve its sports and leisure facilities to better serve the youth.

Its assemblyman Mohamad Duri said there were ongoing efforts to bolster local infrastructure.

“In our pursuit to provide fundamental development, the government remains committed to the youthful aspirations for accessible sports facilities,” he said at the YB Mohamad Duri Cup Men’s Football Competition at Sekolah Kebangsaan Perpat’s football field recently.

Numerous initiatives, he noted, are being implemented through the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) and the Betong Development Agency (BDDA).

“God willing, all areas will see benefits. We have always prioritised leisure and sports,” he added.

He also expressed strong support for youth engagement in sports.

“I welcome efforts like those of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth Movement or Youth Wing 1828 to organise competitions.

“Events such as this football competition attract significant community interest and support, even during festive periods like Hari Raya when hundreds of residents come out to watch,” he said.
