KUCHING: The Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) will be upgrading the raw water pump motor control centre (MCC) panel at the Bau water treatment plant today.
JBALB said the upgrading work would start from 10am to 2pm, and it might cause water supply disruption or low pressure.
“We have instructed the appointed contractors to complete the work as soon as possible,” it said in the statement yesterday.
It said among the affected areas are Bau town, along Kampung Jalan Bau/Lundu to Kampung Jugan, Stenggang, Spadah, Kampung Stum Muda, Kampung Stungkor Lama, Kampung Stungkor Baru, Rasa 1 and 2, Bokah, Pangalak Batang Kayan pump station, the whole area in Singai, Musi, Jalan Sungai Pinang, Kandis Baru, Kandis Lama and its surrounding area.
“The public in these areas are advised to store and use water wisely during the upgrading period. And we will ensure that the water supply disruption will be solved as quickly as possible,” it said.
