SERIAN: Uphold integrity, strengthen service delivery and support the government’s efforts and policies in maintaining the peace and well-being of the community.
This was the advice of Serian district police chief DSP Aswandi Anis to policemen in Serian, reminding them to carry out their duties professionally.
“I want us to focus on the spirit of esprit de corps (camaraderie) among police officers because this will help us to conduct assignments well and face challenges.
“Apart from that, we must perform tasks with dedication and honour the trust given to us to serve the community to improve our image in the eyes of the public,” he said.
He said this during the police’s monthly assembly at the headquarters’ today.
Aswandi also urged his officers to not get involved with any negative activities that can violate the rule of law.
At the same time, the police chief expressed worry over the rising trend of criminal activities in the district, especially on property crime.
He added that this has impacted the police’s credibility to perform their duties to plan and to act.
“Hence, I called upon all personnel in Serian district to take proactive actions and work together as a team to prevent any criminal acts for the safety and the peace of the public,” he said.
During the assembly, 37 police personnel including public administrators were promoted and presented with Excellent Service Award certificates.
