KUCHING: The Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) has implemented several projects under its Integrated Village Economic Development Project (PROSPEK) in the Matu District.
The development and economic activities are expected to provide opportunities for the local population, especially the underprivileged, to improve their income and well-being.
KKDW Sarawak director Mohd Syafiq Anas Abdullah recently visited the PROSPEK projects to assess its implementation and impact on the participants.
During the visit, he was briefed on the progress of the Bruan Matu Corn planting project, upgrading of fishery facilities at Kuala Matu Jetty, cold storage facility in Kuala Matu and upgrading of the road to the Kuala Matu fishery jetty.
It is hoped that PROSPEK will achieve its goals in uplifting the socio-economy of the local population.
