KUCHING:  Upwell Superstore in Jalan Song here has donated 300 food packs to the needy.

Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Youth Central secretary-general Milton Foo said the packs consisted of rice, biscuits, instant noodles, vegetables, fruits, among others, and were contributed in collaboration with the party’s youth central.

He said the food packs would be distributed to the needy, especially those who have lost their jobs or source of income due to the pandemic, including squatters in the Pending constituency.

During a handover ceremony on Friday (July 9), Foo applauded Upwell Superstore for its commitment in giving back to society.

“Since the outbreak of the pandemic, I have received appeals for food aid from time to time.

“Fortunately, I have received support from a wide range of benevolent and passionate parties, including individuals and private firms.

“This is what we call a ‘truly Sarawakian spirit’, helping one another regardless of colour, race and religious belief.
