KUCHING: The Blood Bank Centre at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) is currently facing a shortage of Type O blood supply.
In a Facebook post, the Blood Bank urged individuals with Type O blood to come forward and donate.
“We really need you to come forward to help us at the Blood Bank of SGH as our current stock is a bit low at the moment. We would really appreciate it if you could invite your family and friends to drop by at our centre.”
Meanwhile, several blood donation drives are scheduled at different locations. From Jan 10 to 12, a drive will take place at SGH’s Blood Bank Centre, welcoming donors between 8am to 12.30pm or from 2pm to 4.30pm.
On Jan 10, another drive is scheduled at Level 1, Baitulmamur I Building, Petra Jaya from 9am to 1pm. Jan 11 will see a blood donation drive at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Lobby from 9am to 1pm.
Weekend drives include an event on Jan 13 at the Event Hall, Ground Floor of Farley Mall from 9am to 2pm. Additionally, Mydin Petra Jaya will host a drive on Jan 13 from 10am to 2pm, and the Boulevard Shopping Mall will hold the final drive for the week from 9am to 2.30pm.
