KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) reminds the public to only purchase MCMC and SIRIM certified decoder to ensure a quality transmission of myFreeview Digital TV.
MCMC in a statement today said the use of fake decoders and antennas as well as wrong cables could affect the quality of myFreeview Digital TV transmission.
“MCMC has taken note of issues pertaining to the quality of myFreeview Digital TV service raised by certain people recently.
“MCMC will continue to monitor the situation,” it said.
MCMC also outlined some guidelines for a quality myFreeview Digital TV transmission including installing Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) or Direct-To-Home (DTH) decoders on existing television sets with indoor or outdoor ultra-high frequency (UHF) antennas.
For a more stable signal reception, it is recommended to direct the outdoor antenna towards the nearest transmitter.
“Viewers can visit http://www.mytvbroadcasting.my/pemasang_berdaftar/ for proper installation of the antenna,” it said.
