SIBU: Collaboration between University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) and West Kalimantan’s Shanti Bhuana Institute (SBI) is expected to lead to more education and research opportunities.
Rector of SBI Bapak Marianus Dinata Alnija said this collaboration could bring significant benefits to both parties.
“One of the main benefits of this collaboration is that students and faculties can do the exchange programme where students and faculties from both institutions can learn and teach in different academic environments, as well as broaden their knowledge and experience.
“This exchange programme can help strengthen the partnership and expand the academic network between the two institutions,” he said at the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between UTS and SBI here Tuesday (Mar 7).
Khairuddin signed on behalf of UTS while Marianus acted on behalf of the Institute.
Additionally, according to Marianus, this collaboration could expand joint research programmes, curriculum development and other academic activities.
These can help strengthen academic expertise in both institutions and improve the quality of education and research in the fields of Information Technology, Management, Business and Elementary School Teacher Education, he said.
“This collaboration will also enhance SBI in its international reputation and open new opportunities for research and technology development collaborations. This will strengthen our competitive advantages and assist us in meeting the increasingly complex demands of the digital era.
” I would like to express my gratitude to UTS for providing the opportunity for SBI to establish international cooperation,” he added.
